Ericsson celebrated the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia with a suhoor event hosted by Ali Eid, president of Ericsson, KSA.
The event was attended by its top management executives and staff as well as media representatives in Riyadh on Saturday.
Eid took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the media for their longstanding support for Ericsson in Saudi Arabia and gave a brief update on the company's business locally and recapped the company's achievements for the first half of the year. Eid also highlighted the current state of the telecommunications industry in the Kingdom and focused on its potential for future growth.
"As one of the fastest growing telecommunications markets in the region, Saudi Arabia is a very important market for Ericsson and we are committed to contributing to the ongoing growth of the industry locally," said Eid. "I am very pleased to be able to take part in this celebration of the holy month together with our media partners, without whom the telecommunications industry in the Kingdom would not have achieved such exceptional growth over the past few years."
"Ericsson's presence in Saudi Arabia dates back over 30 years, and even then, Saudi Arabia was quickly making its mark on the telecommunications industry and Ericsson quickly identified it as a key customer in the region," added Eid. "Our commitment to the Kingdom remains unwavering and we hope to continue to contribute to the industry's success locally for years to come."
Ericsson has been present in the Middle East for more than 120 years and has been working closely with operators on creating, developing and growing the telecom market in the region.
