Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah urged a group of 10 newly designated officials on Sunday to give their best to enhance the performance of the health facilities in the Kingdom to develop the ongoing comprehensive integrated health care project of the Ministry of Health.
The minister made the statement when he approved 10 resolutions extending the mandate of a number of the MoH officials.
He explained the MoH has developed a set of standards under the comprehensive integrated health project and all health officials are bound to follow them strictly to serve people with a sense of dedication.
The minister pointed out that “Patients First” is the motto of the MoH, which focuses all its services on serving the patients.
The Kingdom has a comprehensive integrated health care system that covers both citizens and expatriates.
The ministry under the leadership of the minister is the major player entrusted with the provision of preventive, curative and rehabilitative health care for the Kingdom’s population. It provides primary health care services through a network of more than 2,000 primary health care centers.
The MoH is considered the lead government agency responsible for the management, planning, financing and regulation of the health care sector.
It also undertakes the overall supervision and follow-up of health care related activities carried out by the private sector.
There are also three other organizations that finance and deliver primary, secondary and tertiary care to specific enrolled security and armed forces organizations. These are the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior and the Saudi Arabian National Guard.
Besides these ministries, the Ministry of Education provides immediate primary health care to students. The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs also operates institutions for the mentally ill and homes for orphans.
According to the minister's mandate, Yasser bin Sa'eed Al-Ghamdi will be the supervisor of the bed management program for a period of one year, Abdulaziz Abdulmohsen Al-Dekhail the supervisor-general of patient rights and relations for one year and Hassan bin Mahmoud Al-Fakhri is to assume duties as the secretary-general of the Council of Medical Cities and MoH Specialist Hospitals for one year. The ministerial resolutions also extended the mandate of Afaf bint Samihan Al-Shemri to assume responsibilities as the supervisor-general of international relations for one year and Morgan bin Mubarak Al-Morgan to assume work as the director-general of contracting for one year.
The resolutions also stipulated Khaled bin Khedr Khaled Al-Kalsh to assume responsibilities as the director-general of self-employment programs for one year and Abdulmohsen bin Nasser Ahmed Al-Melhem to assume responsibilities as the director-general of health affairs in Al-Ahsa for one year.
In addition, Khaled bin Abdulaziz Rashed Al-Saaran will assume duties as the supervisor-general of the Prince Salman Kidney Center for one year and Hamad bin Mohamed Ali Al-Aksham will become the director-general of health affairs in Jazan for one year.
