Twenty students from Peevees Group of Schools in Saudi Arabia will be participating in the summer outward-bound program in Uttaranchal, India.
The team from Al-Wurood School in Jeddah had a flag off ceremony at the school campus recently, which was presided over by S. Padmini, assistant director for academics.
A.M. Ashraff, general manager of Peevees Group; S.M. Noushad, group manager; and Principal K. Rahamathullah attended the ceremony and wished every success to the team. The outward-bound program is organized for the students to have a close association with nature, a school official said. The students will be participating in various activities like rappelling and trekking.
The Peevees Group began its educational pursuits by promoting three pioneering educational institutions in Nilambur, India.
“The resounding success of the three institutions have encouraged us to take up management of the expatriate community schools in the Kingdom,” an official statement read. Al-Wurood International School in Jeddah boasts of 2,500 students from over 35 nationalities, while Al-Yasmin School in Riyadh has 2,400 Indian students on its rolls. Al-Khozama School in Dammam, which has 2,000 students, and Al-Mowhiba School in Jeddah (about 450 students) are other institutions under the group.
