Lance & 3rdy, Garcia claim back-to-back honors

Lance & 3rdy put on another solid display to clinch its second straight Team of the Week honors at the expense of Fire Fox, which, however, managed to share the limelight after its team manager Eva Garcia emerged the ladies Bowler of the Week in back-to-back fashion during the third session in the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group Friday Morning Bowling League 12th Conference at Bowling City here.
Lance & 3rdy swept the match to post perfect 32 points and stay at the top of the 13-team tournament with computed points of 92 well in front of Ekis-3 (70), Shawly Bowlers (70), Micah’s Pride (65) and Fed Extreme (60).
Rene Punzalan made it a Lance double when he captured the men’s Bowler of the Week plum after shooting the high series of 693 on games of 227, 220, 246.
Team chief and last week’s honoree Ric Reformado backed up Punzalan on 636 that included a high game of 231 while the unpredictable Ver Jasa added 610 to complete a three-pronged Lance attack, while Elo Manalo, Shirley Sagmit and team manager Evelyn Santoc combined for 1,656.
Though shutout on sets of 1180-1127, 1184-1172 and 1231-1204 for final aggregate of 3595-3503, Fire Fox did not go home empty-handed as Garcia rolled 673 to romp off with the ladies individual award on games of 241, 203 and 229.
Rey Feliciano carded 616 including a high game of 228. Fire Fox had a chance to avoid a shutout in the second game when team captain Obie Ycasas scored 214 with ample support from Vic Bantay and Archie Alcantara but then Serge Rivera lapsed into errors leading to a 12-pin loss in the game.
Still smarting from last week’s defeat Micah’s Pride massively bounced back by blanking X-Alley 20-0 with Ruel Santoc leading teammates with 615 that included a couple of 229.
Micah’s was oozing firepower as Melvin Lising, Oca Bernabe, Jack Jarin Ronnie de Castro and team manager Ester Santoc rallied behind Ruel to eclipse X-Alley on total pinfalls of 3433-3378. Andy Yumena was the leading scorer for X-Alley on 619.
In other matches, D’ Mountaineers, Shawly Bowlers and Ekis-3 won by identical 16-4 result against Petomin Express, Pin Rockers and Fed Extreme in that order, while defending champion Pin Slasher downed Ball Care 12-6 and the bye-team in action, Royal Strikers, hardly gained 4 points.
