"CCE (continuous and comprehensive evaluation) is not just a superficial and apparent change in the methodology of evaluation, it has a complete logic and philosophy and needs a complete change in the system of education.
It is important to understand the change for proper implementation,” said International Indian School, Jeddah (IISJ) Principal Syed Masood Ahmed.
The principal, who is also the chapter convenor of the CBSE affiliated schools in the Kingdom, stressed this while addressing the participants of the CCE workshop organized by the school. The principal welcomed the gathering and inaugurated the workshop.
Thirty participants from 8 CBSE affiliated schools in the Western Region attended the workshop on CCE — Methodology and Approach in the girls’ section auditorium.
Supervisors, coordinators, teachers in charge of the primary section from Radhwa International School, Yanbu, Dauha Al Uloom, Al Manar School, Yanbu, Al Wurood International School, Novel International School, Jeddah, Lana International School, Khamis Mushayt, Jabal Farsan International School, Rabigh, International Indian School, Taif attended the workshop.
Ms. Farahdunnisa, vice principal of the girls’ section, and Ms. Naheed Fatima, headmistress of the III-V block boys section, took the participants through an informative and interactive session. The workshop was divided into five sessions:
Introduction of participants; objectives of the session; Introduction to CCE in CBSE school; What is CCE?; Methods of assessment; Rating scales and achievement card; Obstacles & Challenges, what is CCE and what is not CCE, frequently asked questions on CCE.
The workshop ended with an interactive session during which the participants raised queries on implementing CCE.
The queries were addressed by the vice principal of the girls section. Certificates were distributed to the participants.
