IISJ celebrates academic excellence

Successful students and teachers from International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) were honored at the school’s 43rd Annual Prize Day on Sunday after achieving high grades in their AISSCE exams conducted by CBSE.
Indian Ambassador Hamid Ali Rao was the chief guest and Consul General Faiz Ahmed Kidwai the guest of honor.
Head boy Vazim Latheef welcomed the gathering. Principal Syed Masood Ahmed presented the annual report.
He informed the audience about the various activities and achievements of the school during the academic year 2011-2012.

Students also excelled in extracurricular activities, he added.
The school managing committee’s chairman Khursheed Akhtar acknowledged the efforts of the staff, parents and students in maintaining the high standard of education in the school.
Member of the higher board M.S. Kareemuddin congratulated the IISJ team on the exam results.
He said a review of salaries would take place every three years.
Kidwai congratulated the principal and staff on the good results.
He said the students of IISJ excel in communication skills but needed to develop their competitive spirit to compete with the rest of the world.
He said pay revisions must be a continuous process.
Rao said there would be “paradise on earth” if people followed certain principles and values in life.
He expressed his plan to set up a system that was more transparent and objective to help students achieve better results.
Students who were particularly successful, including Rabeeha Abduraheem, Shaza Saleem and Afroz Shaha Ashraf, were given proficiency awards by the distinguished guests.
Fazeela Rizvi, head girl, gave a vote of thanks.
