Social activist M.A. Rahman passes away

The body of P. Muhammad Abdul Rahman, a social, cultural and religious activist, buried at the Panambra Juma Masjid cemetery yesterday following funeral prayers attended by a large number of relatives and friends.
Abdul Rahman, who worked as headmaster of a number of schools in the Malappuram district, died on Sunday after a heart attack. He was a member of the district council of Jamaat-e-Islami and founder of the Islamic Youth Center in Calicut.
He is survived by wife Suhrabi, son Muneeb and daughters Muneera, Mubeena, Mufeeda and Musheera. Abdul Rahman had a lot of friends and students in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries.
Friends and coworkers remembered his efforts in the service of Islam and Muslims. “Abdul Rahman was very active in propagating the message of Islam among Muslims as well as non-Muslims,” one friend said and commended his impressive qualities.
