Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, state minister and commander of the National Guard, said he was deeply saddened by Prince Naif's death. "Prince Naif was a great leader who played an effective role in various positions and carried out his responsibilities efficiently." Prince Miteb noted Prince Naif's ability to take appropriate decisions on vital issues.
Prince Turki bin Nasser, president of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME), pointed out that the Crown Prince had devoted his life to the service of his religion, homeland, and all Arab and Islamic nations. He noted that Prince Naif had been a symbol of dedication and success in skillfully facing crises and managing important affairs, particularly, the files of security and terrorism, and he has gained great appreciation at local, regional and international arenas.
Hail Gov. Prince Saud bin Abdul Mohsen conveyed his condolences, as well as those of the people of Hail, to King Abdullah, his brothers and children and to all Saudi people. He was the top security official in the country and implemented the concept of modern security administration.
"Nobody will have a difference of opinion on the major loss the nation has suffered as a result of Prince Naif's death. He was one of the country's dedicated administrators. He worked hard for the protection of the lives and properties of citizens and residents. Prince Naif will remain amongst us through the imprints he had left in various parts of the country," he said adding that Prince Naif had played a monumental role in strengthening patriotism among Saudis.
Tabuk Gov. Prince Fahd bin Sultan said Prince Naif had given his instructions to provide medical treatment for a Saudi child in Haqel three days before his death. "We'll follow Prince Naif's instructions without failure and your son Khaled will be given treatment at the best medical center," the governor told Muhammad Al-Huwaiti, the child's father. The Al-Huwaiti family expressed their deep sorrow over the crown prince's death.
Al-Jouf Gov. Prince Fahd bin Badr said Prince Naif's death was a big loss for the nation. He noted the late prince's contributions to humanitarian causes, administration, security, the war on terror and improving services for pilgrims.
"He was a unique personality. Although he was charged with national security, he was a kind person and was loved by everybody," the governor said, adding that the late prince had been quick to act on complaints from citizens.
Prince Fahd said the late crown prince had instructed all regional governors to carry out the directives of King Abdullah and follow an open-door policy toward citizens. Madinah Gov. Prince Abdul Aziz bin Majed and Asir Gov. Prince Faisal bin Khaled also expressed their deep sorrow over the demise of Prince Naif and commended his contributions.
Prince Nawaf bin Faisal, head of the Youth Welfare Presidency said Prince Naif was the right-hand man of King Abdullah in administering the country's affairs and reinforcing security. As chairman of the Supreme Haj Committee, Prince Naif had been playing a major role in enhancing facilities for pilgrims.
He also noted Prince Naif's efforts in promoting research in Hadith (the sayings of the Prophet) in that he introduced an international prize for the purpose. He also worked towards strengthening the Saudi media. "We have been following his instructions to take care of youth and give them leadership roles," Prince Nawaf said.
Eastern Province Gov. Prince Mohammed bin Fahd said “We have lost the Kingdom's top security man and a fighter against terrorism, who had been keen on achieving security in all countries of the world, and who has contributed to the gigantic achievements in all fields for the homeland and its citizens.”
Najran Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah said that the Kingdom has lost a leader who had dedicated his life in the service of his homeland and worked for the progress and prosperity of the Kingdom and its people during the past several decades. He noted the late prince’s contributions in boosting security and combating terrorism.
Commerce and Industry Minister Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah commended Prince Naif's contributions to stabilize the Saudi market by combating trade fraud and punishing violators of the law. He was a majr supporter of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and opposed increasing prices of essential commodities. During Prince Naif’s time laws were passed to prevent issuance of bad checks, he said, adding that it had a noticeable impact on the society.
The minister underscored Prince Naif’s endeavors for the development of the Kingdom in various sectors. “He wished to implement the teachings of Shariah in all walks of life,” Al-Rabiah said, adding that the late prince had the qualities of a great leader. “We’ll continue to follow Prince Naif’s advices with regard to trade and protecting the interests of consumers.” Prince Naif had often emphasized the importance of security for the progress of trade and attracting foreign investment.
Haj Minister Bandar Al-Hajjar also expressed his deep sorrow over Prince Naif’s demise. “We cannot do justice to the late prince by these few words. He was the country’s No. 1 security man and a model for a sincere and dedicated statesman,” the minister said and noted the late crown prince’s services for the welfare and well being of the millions of pilgrims who come to the Kingdom to perform Haj and Umrah every year. “Prince Naif used to follow all matters related to the pilgrimage and encouraged officials to make early preparations for the annual event,” Al-Hajjar said.
Dr. Bandar Al-Aiban, president of Human Rights Commission, expressed his deep sorrow over Prince Naif's death. He commended the late prince's contributions for the development of the Kingdom, especially in building its security forces.
