SCTA plans to develop 60 Baha tourist spots

The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) recently disclosed its intention to develop 60 tourist spots in Baha, including heritage sites such as the elephant road, Dee Ain Village and Al-Khalaf village.
Baha, which is located between Makkah and Asir in the southwestern part of the Kingdom, is one of the most beautiful provinces of the country. It attracts thousands of holidaymakers and tourists during summer.
Baha is well-known for its salubrious climate, marvelous natural sceneries and enchanting forests. The forests in Raghdan, Zaraim and Shakran have been developed by municipalities to attract visitors.
“There are more than 40 forests in Baha province,” an SCTA official said, adding that most people enjoy their holidays in these green forests.
The Baha governorate in association with the SCTA has established a large number of recreation centers and fun parks in different parts of the region for the benefit of residents as well as tourists.
A large number of hotels and furnished apartments in the region have been kept ready to welcome holidaymakers.
Tourist guides have been distributed among visitors at Baha Airport, SCTA offices and hotels in the region, while municipalities keep a watch on restaurants to make sure they supply healthy food.
Baha Gov. Prince Mishari bin Saud inaugurated this year’s summer festival in the region last Sunday. The 40-day festival comprises 26 programs including cultural and sports events.
The programs will be held in Baha, Mandak and Qura, an official statement said, adding that they include a football tournament, an exhibition of products made by cottage industries and a health show.
The Education Ministry will organize a painting competition for children in Raghdan, while the General Presidency of Youth Welfare will organize a sports-for-all event at King Saud Sports City. A variety of cultural contests will be held in Shafa, the statement said.
