Butler, PrintoPack advance to finals in Perfetto Basketball event

Sacramento delivered a Best Player of the game worthy performance with 23 points while Balatan added 15 and Greason 10 as Butler held off Hyper Panda 66-50 to qualify for the finals while PrintoPack, bannered by Morales, booked its own spot in the finals beating Grain Silos I 85-78 at the weekend in 2012 Perfetto Basketball Tournament organized by Industrial Sports Association at Industrial City Dawah Office (ICDO) court in Industrial City Phase I on the outskirts of Jeddah.
Butler enjoyed a hassle-free assignment easily dispatching Hyper Panda in a Battle of the Champions knockout semifinal. Panda didn’t have any chance in all four quarters with only Briones making a dent with 18 tough points. In contrast, Butler collected a combined 48 points from Sacramento, Balatan and Greason in addition to the trio’s intensity in rebounding and defensive prowess.
In an exciting Inter-Company D match Morales had one of his superb performances, scoring 32 points as PrintoPack got the better of Grain Silos I.
PrintoPack was in control for most of the game, but just couldn’t put away Grain Silos I which had an answer every time PrintoPack threatened to pull away especially in the early going of the first quarter.
In the second quarter both teams started to tighten their defenses and their shooters hit their mark but because the big guys of PrintoPack dominated in the shaded area for them to lead by 5 points at the end of the first half of play 43-38.
GS I’s Suba, Esmana, Agravante and Fajardo tried to match up the intensity by PrintoPack and made an adjustment in the third quarter, shooting on the outside, slicing the middle and scoring on fast breaks and suddenly the PrintoPack lead was cut to 61-58 at the end of the quarter.
But Morales maintained his explosiveness and composure in the game to score 14 points in the fourth quarter alone while his teammates played good defense as PrintoPack notched the victory.
In Inter-Company A battle for third, Wasalak downed rival Kwality Ice Cream 76-57.
Leading the way for Wasalak were Imuan, Soriano and Samson who combined for 41 points to help the Best Player of the game, Aspa, who had 21 points.
Kwality star point guard Mapaye scored 21 points.
In the third-place match in Inter-Company B Bison Energy Drink defeated Fresenius Med. Care 74-65. Bison had Barrios and Palero combining for 35 points in support of Aguilar who played magnificent ballgame and was named Best Player with 22 points. Aguilar also showed his defensive skills and passing ability.
