The event was organized by the Pakistan Ladies Club at the premises of Pakistan International School Jeddah in Aziziah, where various companies and individuals participated with different stalls selling food, Pakistani traditional and cultural clothes, different Items, Pakistani jewelry, shoes, sweets, games and many more.
The event was organized primarily for the welfare of children and women, to facilitate cultural exchange and also providing an opportunity for women to socialize.
Fauzia Salik Khan, wife of the Pakistan consul general and chairperson of the Pakistani Ladies Club, inaugurated the event.
“This special cultural event was designed for a noble cause, and the proceedings of this cultural event will be utilized for the schooling of Pakistani students who are facing financial problems,” said Khan.
“The other purpose of organizing the event was to facilitate cultural exchange, promote Pakistani culture, especially as women over here stay at home most of the time. They don’t have such events where they can socialize, so by organizing this event the club wants to provide an opportunity to women of the community and society to have some fun,” she added.
She said they had strong expectations of this event, and will continue such programs of cultural promotion and cultural exchange in the future for the community.
Khan also advised the Pakistani community living in Saudi Arabia to help each other and stay together with unity, love and brotherhood. “Unity is the strength, stay united,” advised Khan.
“We all need to join hands to maintain friendship and strengthen the community, particularly for such meaningful community work. Social gatherings are also very important for a healthy lifestyle,” said Maliha Ibrahim, president of the Pakistan Ladies Club.
“It’s an opportunity for the women here to socialize and share an evening with friends and other ladies while working together for the benefit of children who need financial support,” said Ibrahim.
“Our club has always supported the activities and programs which has made it easier for the Pakistani women to join together for the welfare of the community,” she added.
She added organizing this cultural event was made possible because of the extensive work and hard efforts of Farkhanda Tahir, assistant president of the club, Mahreen Qurashi, treasurer, and Nosheen Zahid, who is in charge of activities.
She also thanked chairperson Fauzia Salk Khan and the management of Pakistan International School Jeddah Aziziah for their continued support in organizing such events aimed at the community.
“We are happy and proud to be associated with this excellent event, which is mainly to support deserving students, deserving families, charitable purposes, all for a good cause,” said Salma Shah Khan, vice principal of PISJ.
