MESC launches 36,000-ton PVC compound plant

Riyadh-based Middle East Specialized Cables Company (MESC) recently opened a plant for production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) products.
The plant’s production capacity is expected to exceed 36,000 tons per year, said a press release.
This will cover all of MESC requirements and the surplus capacity will be used to serve local and international markets, the company said.
Swiss company “Buss” supplied and installed the production lines in the plant according to the latest international standards. The company will obtain major raw materials from SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corp) and other local companies.
This expansion will provide additional employment opportunities and Saudi nationals will constitute more than 80 percent of workers in the new company. PVC products are used in diverse applications such as electric cables, tubes, hoses, door and window frames, toys, car accessories and other applications.
