Displaying his usual enthusiasm for television cooking, Chef Osama El-Sayed introduced his two recipe winners Rabab Al-Juhani and Sharifa Ali at an event organized by Braun at the InterContinental Hotel recently in Jeddah.
Rabab and Sharifa were the winners of the cooking competition for original recipes. Braun organized the competition using its newly designed food processor was a condition for winning the chance to cook with Chef Osama in Jeddah.
“We received many recipes from all over the country. Rabab and Sharifa were picked from a long list. We chose their recipes based on its ease of preparation,” Chef Osama said. “We gave the two contenders 45 minutes to cook their recipes.”
For less than an hour Sharifa and Rabab competed fiercely to prepare a meal consisting of broccoli soup and ground meat Tajin with tomato sauce. A panel of international chefs was present to critique both dishes at the end.
“It was an awesome experience for me to cook alongside Chef Osama here, and he gave me some tricks and advice that I found very helpful during the cooking process,” said Rabab. “I am really happy to win in this competition and to get the chef to taste and critique my food.”
“This competition gave me the confidence to cook more,” said Sharifa. “It seemed at times hard to cook under the pressure of the spotlight and cameras around the cooking table.”
At the end Chef Osama handed both winners a new Braun Mulitquick food processor and the Chef’s cookbooks.
“It was really exiting watching these two cooks making one of my favorite recipes with their own taste and style,” said Chef Osama. “I was really surprised by the end results of these dishes.”
