RIYADH: French retail chain Geant, the leading hypermarket in Saudi Arabia, further enhanced its reach with the launch of its first store in supermarket style here yesterday on Prince Turki Road near Exit 2 in Hai Al-Nakheel District. The store, with a new look, new ambience and new offers with guaranteed low prices round-the-year; covers an area of 3,000 sq. m.
“The new Geant supermarket has 10 fast track check-out counters and more than 75 people have been employed to staff the store, the second such store in Saudi Arabia, but the first of its kind this layout,” said Tim Sutton, director of store operations and marketing. The first such store was opened recently in Jeddah.
Speaking at the opening of the store, Sutton said that the new supermarket would offer an entirely new shopping experience. He said, “The ambience and the construction of the store as well as the competitive prices have made it a most favored shopping destination for individuals as well as families.” The store will bring value to customers with its unmatched offers, discounts and round-the-year promotions in all categories.
The store, Sutton continued, will stock and sell a large number of products in all categories — groceries, fruit, vegetables, packed food, pulses, kitchen utilities, personal accessories and a selection of non-food products.
