BMG index increases 0.4%

JEDDAH — The BMG Saudi Index witnessed an increase in yesterday’s session of 0.4 percent to 472.51 points. The total market turnover, however, maintained its negative trend, depreciating by 18.8 percent to SR1.6 billion ($422 million).

All sectors witnessed gains. The services sector increased by 1.3 percent, while the insurance sector went up by 0.8 percent, the industrial and the banking sectors both appreciated by 0.4 percent, and the telecommunications sector increased by 0.2 percent. Twenty shares went up, while three went down, and seven stood still. The best performer was The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia, ascending by 3.3 percent to SR23.25. The worst performer was Al Abdullatif Industrial Investment Co. falling by 2.6 percent to SR76.00. The leading shares moved differently yesterday with Al-Rajhi Bank’s share price increasing by 0.3 percent to SR88.00, while Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) shares consolidated at the same share price at SR127.
