RIYADH, 22 February 2007 — Fitaihi Jewelry, a pioneer Saudi company renowned for its quality luxury jewelry and gifts, opened its state-of-the art jewelry showroom in the heart of the capital on Tuesday evening. Located at Olaya Street, the new Fitaihi Jewelry Center which is designed to cater to elite shoppers, also includes a special section for Scintilla Monaco, the famous diamond jewelry brand from Monaco, in which Fitaihi is the official dealer in Saudi Arabia.
Ahmed Hassan Fitaihi, chief executive officer of Fitaihi Company, told newsmen here soon after cutting the ribbon to mark the opening that “the new showroom will cater to a large clientele of customers who go for luxury jewelry and gifts.”
Over the years, Fitaihi has become synonymous with global quality and exclusive jewelry. And true to its name which is generally associated to luxurious jewelries and elegantly fashionable accessories, it took the company almost a year to design and decorate the Fitaihi Al-Olaya just to ensure harmony between customers’ needs for luxury items and shopping freedom yet with privacy.
“The new showroom offers to the classy people of Riyadh a distinguished and easily accessible location,” Fitaihi pointed out. The showroom contains distinctive collections of diamond jewelry, watches, artworks, antiques, in addition to men’s and women’s accessories. He explained that “Al-Olaya Street in Riyadh became an attraction center for famous names in fashion and jewelry world. Hence, Fitaihi was very keen to be at the heart of this renowned brands and, to be as close as possible, form their customers who are seeking excellence and individuality through the acquisition of unique and genuine items. “
Franco De Marco, manager business development worldwide of Scintilla Monaco, said “this is the first time we are introducing Scintilla Monaco shopping concept in the Kingdom through this new showroom.” The idea is to make the customers feel that they are in Monaco, he added. He described the Kingdom as a huge market for diamonds, as it holds 70 percent of the share in the Middle East.
The chief executive officer further said that the company, which is the only joint stock company in the Kingdom for jewelry and luxury items, plans to open similar offices in Jeddah and AlKhobar, as part of its expansion plan. Anees Jamjoom, executive director of Fitaihi Company, said. “Jewelry consumption is a barometer of the country’s economic condition and Fitaihi’s expansion is a manifestation of the Kingdom’s solid economic growth.” He added that the SR 6 billion Kingdom’s jewelry market is poised to grow steadily in the coming years because of the customer interest in the purchase of diamond jewelry. The new showroom, he added, will cater to both men and women.
Welcoming the latest thrust of the government to Saudize the gold market, Fitaihi said: “The effort will be successful since we will have skilled people to handle the jewelry market due to the organized programs undertaken by the government.”
