RIYADH, 25 May 2006 — A workshop on digital photography will be held today and tomorrow in Jeddah for Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike, organizers have said.

The two-day workshop is a project of the Cameraderie Photography Club of Riyadh, which has helped develop hundreds of Filipino photography enthusiasts in the national capital in the last six years.

Gerico Canlapan, the club’s leader and main lecturer in the workshop, said the group will also form a Cameraderie chapter in Jeddah. The project chairman of the workshop will be Derek Cabanero, one of the pioneers of the club.

“We, at Cameraderie, are very happy to know that there are more compatriots in the western region who are interested to participate and join our club and this gives the group a revitalized enthusiasm to continue serving our Pinoy community Kingdomwide,” said Canlapan.

Cameraderie’s latest activity was the Portraiture Workshop, which culminated last Friday at the Riyadh International School (RIS).

One of the graduates who participated in their latest workshop was a ten-year old boy. A photo exhibit cum competition among the graduates was also held.

For venues, fees and other details, interested photography buffs may call Boy Mallari at 05059-13632 and Bath Brul at 05081-27637.
