RIYADH, 27 April 2005 — “Learn with humility, learn with your heart” was the message given to the students of Al-Yasmin International School by Raid Qusti, chief of bureau, Arab News, on the occasion of “World Book Day” celebration held here Saturday. Qusti, who was the chief guest, emphasized the importance of reading books and recalled how the Prophet (pbuh) gave his eternal message about reading.
He congratulated the winners of the Asianet quiz contest. Malayalam News Chief Reporter K.U. Iqbal accompanied Qusti. Nikitha Saif of Grade 10 spoke about rediscovering the joy of learning and how educated people should wage a war against the negative influence of TV — “the idiot box.”
School Principal M.C. Sebastian in his welcome address reflected on the convergence of investigative journalism and creative education for the sake of true knowledge.
