RAMALLAH: Israeli forces detained seven Palestinians during predawn raids across several areas of the Ramallah governorate in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, according to local sources.

Sources said Israeli troops detained Bashir Al-Mukhtar, Amin Farah, Yahya Farah, Jamal Yasser, and Awad Jamal from the town of Dura Al-Qare’ north of Ramallah, as well as Mazen Al-Rantisi from the Al-Tireh neighborhood and Taysir Abu Sharbak from Al-Amari refugee camp in Al-Bireh.

The detentions took place after Israeli forces stormed and searched their homes.

Also on Sunday, a Palestinian man was injured after being assaulted by Israeli colonists during an attack on the village of Burqa, northwest of Nablus.

Emad Ahmad, director of the Palestinian Red Crescent’s Emergency and Ambulance Center in Nablus, said medical crews treated a 33-year-old Palestinian who sustained injuries and bruises after being attacked by Israeli colonists during the assault on the village.

The injured man received first aid at the scene before being transferred to a hospital for further treatment.

The attack comes amid an escalation in assaults by Israeli colonists on towns and villages across the Nablus governorate, including attacks on residents and their property, as well as the burning of agricultural lands and crops, often under the protection of Israeli forces.

A 9-year-old Palestinian child was injured with bruises on Sunday after an Israeli colonist attempted to run him over in the Bedouin community of Abu Falah in the Khan Al-Ahmar area, east of occupied Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem governorate said doctors present in Khan Al-Ahmar provided the child with medical treatment at the scene, describing his injury as minor.

The incidents come amid ongoing attacks and harassment by Israeli settlers targeting Palestinian communities in the West Bank.

Settlers on Sunday erected a tent on Palestinian-owned land in the village of Al-Rashayida, east of Bethlehem, under the protection of Israeli forces.

Dozens of colonists set up the tent on land belonging to local residents in a move aimed at seizing more Palestinian territory and expanding settlement activity in the area.

Residents of the village gathered at the site to protest the establishment of the settlement tent.

However, Israeli forces provided protection to the colonists and fired tear gas canisters at the protesters in an attempt to disperse them and prevent them from reaching their land.

Areas east of Bethlehem, particularly Bedouin and rural communities, have witnessed an escalation in attacks by Israeli colonists seeking to impose new realities on the ground through the establishment of settlement outposts and land seizures.
