The supermodel posted images from inside the stadium, including snapshots of the crowd draped in Moroccan flags and videos capturing the atmosphere among supporters ahead of kick-off. She also shared photos of herself wearing Morocco’s jersey as fans packed the venue for one of the tournament’s most anticipated group-stage encounters.
Morocco’s supporters have been among the most visible at the World Cup, with thousands traveling to the US to back a team widely regarded as one of football’s rising powers following its historic run to the semifinals of the 2022 tournament.
Friday’s victory further strengthened Morocco’s position in Group C. The Atlas Lions claimed all three points thanks to an early strike from Ismael Saibari, a goal that proved decisive in a hard-fought contest against Scotland.
Morocco entered the tournament carrying the hopes of many Arab football fans after becoming the first Arab and African nation to reach the last four at a World Cup four years ago.
Hammam posted after the team’s previous draw against Brazil: “We showed the world who we are. So proud of this team. To the players, keep making us proud!!”
Hammam, who frequently celebrates her Moroccan and Egyptian heritage on social media and at international events, has often used her platform to champion Arab representation.
Hammam is one of the most in-demand models in the industry. She was scouted in Amsterdam’s Centraal Station before making her catwalk debut in 2013 by walking in Jean Paul Gaultier’s couture show.
Hammam has appeared on the runway for leading fashion houses such as Burberry, Fendi, Prada, Bottega Veneta, Marc Jacobs, Moschino, Balenciaga and Carolina Herrera, to name a few, and starred in international campaigns for DKNY, Celine, Chanel, Versace, Givenchy, Giorgio Armani, Tiffany & Co. and others.
