RIYADH: The Saudi Data and AI Authority, in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, intensified awareness efforts targeting companies serving pilgrims by strengthening understanding of data governance and personal data protection, promoting compliance with regulatory frameworks, and reducing improper data-handling practices.

The initiative was carried out through a specialized workshop attended by representatives of more than 200 companies serving pilgrims from within the Kingdom and abroad, in addition to over 70 ministry officials.

The efforts focused on enabling companies to adopt best practices in data management, including data classification and data quality standards, to enhance the reliability and accuracy of data used to improve services for pilgrims.

They also aimed to improve operational efficiency, support informed decision-making, and strengthen data integration and information sharing across the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem.
