RIYADH: Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi said Gulf youth are a key pillar in building the future of GCC states and achieving their national visions, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
On Gulf Youth Day, observed annually on June 6, Albudaiwi highlighted the contributions of young people to the region’s development, saying the occasion recognized their role across various fields.
He said that GCC leaders placed great importance on empowering youth through regulations, policies and initiatives aimed at developing their skills, enhancing their capabilities, and preparing them to address challenges and opportunities in different sectors.
Albudaiwi added that the GCC General Secretariat continues to support joint youth initiatives by strengthening coordination among member states, facilitating the exchange of expertise and organizing capacity-building programs.
These efforts promote innovation, entrepreneurship and community participation, reflecting the council’s commitment to investing in youth to support sustainable development, the SPA reported.
Albudaiwi reaffirmed the secretariat’s commitment to supporting Gulf youth, describing them as an important asset for their nations and emphasizing their role in shaping the future of GCC states.
