MADINAH: The Prophet’s Mosque Library has opened its doors to pilgrims arriving in Madinah after completing Hajj, offering international visitors access to its extensive resources and educational services in a calm, tranquil setting.

As one of the oldest endowed libraries in the Islamic world, it serves as a centuries-old repository of knowledge for researchers, students, and scholars.

The main library is located on the western side of the mosque near staircase 10, while dedicated facilities for female researchers are on the northern side near gate 24 and the northwestern side near gate 12.

The library houses an exceptional collection that includes some 4,000 original manuscripts, nearly 60,000 digitized and photographed manuscripts, 4,600 multimedia items, and more than 250 rare handwritten copies of the Qur’an.

Specialized sections such as a manuscript hall, a rare books section and audio library are also available to support visitors. Modern digital cataloging services also allow researchers to locate materials easily, supporting its mission of preserving global Islamic heritage.
