Saudi FM condemns ‘brutal’ Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain

  • Prince Faisal affirmed Kingdom’s full solidarity with Bahrain and its support for measures taken by the country to protect its security

RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan condemned “brutal” Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain during a phone call with his Bahraini counterpart on Thursday.

Bahrain’s Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that its military intercepted and destroyed three missiles and a number of drones fired by Iran.

During the call with Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Prince Faisal also affirming the Kingdom’s full solidarity with Bahrain and its support for all measures taken by the country to protect its security, territorial integrity, and citizens.

Serious developments in the region and the importance of concerted efforts and enhanced joint coordination to maintain regional security and stability were also discussed.

Prince Faisal later received a phone call from his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the call, the two ministers discussed the latest regional developments and the continuation of coordination and consultation in this regard.
