RIYADH: The Ministry of Health said the Hajj season concluded without epidemic outbreaks or public health threats, with pilgrims’ health remaining stable.

The announcement follows official reports of the overall success of the Hajj season across all levels, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.

Health Minister Fahad AlJalajel said the outcome reflects the Kingdom’s care for pilgrims’ health and the readiness of the healthcare system in coordination with other government agencies.

He added that Saudi Arabia recognizes its responsibility to safeguard public health during large gatherings. No suspected or confirmed cases of infectious diseases were detected among pilgrims, despite global health challenges, including Ebola and hantavirus cases.

This was attributed to early preparedness, continuous surveillance and high readiness. The health sector provided preventive, emergency and treatment services around the clock.

The Ministry of Health praised the leadership’s support and the coordination between Hajj authorities, healthcare teams and security forces.

On Saturday, Dul Hijjah 13, pilgrims performed the final stoning of the Jamarat on the third day of Tashreeq. Crowd movement at the Jamarat facility was smooth, supported by crowd management systems and field planning.

Medical and security teams were deployed across the site to manage crowds and provide assistance. After completing the rituals, pilgrims who remained in Mina proceeded to the Grand Mosque in Makkah to perform the farewell Tawaf.
