RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources processed 603 applications for chemical clearance services in March 2026, as part of efforts to support industrial investment and facilitate the expansion of industrial facilities.

The ministry’s official spokesperson, Jarrah Al-Jarrah, said the applications included 572 requests for clearance permits for unrestricted chemical imports and 31 requests for permits to import restricted chemicals. The applications covered a total of 1,431 chemical items.

Al-Jarrah said the chemical clearance service enables industrial investors to request clearance permits or import and export licenses for chemicals used in industrial facilities through the “Sina’i” platform.

He added that the service aims to ensure chemical clearances are issued to industrial facilities through streamlined procedures and within a timely framework, helping facilitate the entry of materials through ports of entry.

The ministry spokesperson emphasized the importance of the chemical clearance service in boosting industrial output by developing, streamlining, and improving the mechanisms for obtaining clearances for chemicals used in production, as well as automating these processes through the industrial sector’s digital services platform. This, he said, would enhance the delivery of digital services that support industrial investors.
