RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s project Masam, implemented by the nation’s aid agency KSrelief, removed 839 explosive devices from various parts of Yemen during the first week of May.

The haul included 95 anti-tank mines, 12 anti-personnel mines, 721 items of unexploded ordnance, and 11 improvised explosive devices.

Masam has now cleared 558,855 mines and munitions from Yemen since its launch. The devices had been planted indiscriminately across the country, endangering civilians including children, women and the elderly.

Through KSrelief, Saudi Arabia continues to help Yemenis rebuild their lives with dignity and security.
