UN envoy praises KSrelief aid efforts in Sudan

RIYADH: Dr. Abdullah Al-Moallem, head of the health and environmental aid department at Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian agency KSrelief, recently met with the personal envoy of the UN secretary-general for Sudan, Pekka Haavisto, in Riyadh. 

During the meeting, the officials discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between KSrelief and the UN on the situation in Sudan and the urgent provision of basic needs for vulnerable people. 

Haavisto praised Saudi Arabia’s projects for the Sudanese people through KSrelief, commending its ongoing efforts to alleviate the suffering of those in need worldwide. 

The UN envoy also met Jasem Albudaiwi, secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in Riyadh. The officials stressed the importance of intensified regional and international efforts to support a comprehensive political solution to ease the suffering of the Sudanese people.
