RIYADH: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition on Sunday received at its headquarters in Riyadh a delegation of students from several countries studying at the National Defense University in Saudi Arabia.

It comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise with academic and military institutions, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the coalition’s key roles and strategic tasks, in addition to the programs and initiatives implemented in its four areas of focus: intellectual, media, countering terrorism financing and military.

These efforts aim to support member states in combating terrorism and extremism while enhancing joint coordination, the SPA reported.

The delegation was also briefed on training and qualification programs implemented by the coalition in cooperation with member states, as well as its efforts to develop capabilities and unify concepts related to joint military operations, contributing to raising readiness levels and enhancing integration among institutions involved in counterterrorism.

During his meeting with the delegation, the coalition’s assistant military commander, Maj. Gen. Abdullah bin Hamed Al-Qurashi, highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation with military and defense educational institutions.

He said that such visits contribute to exchanging expertise and knowledge, and reinforcing collective action among member states.
