Saudi Arabia chairs digital cooperation event at UN Sustainable Development Forum

Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the UN Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil co-chaired the “Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development” event alongside Permanent Representative of
Pakistan Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad in New York, SPA reported on Thursday.

The event was organized by the UN Group of Friends for Digital Cooperation in partnership with the Digital Cooperation Organization and the UN Conference on Trade and Development, on the sidelines of the UN Science, Technology, and Innovation Forum in New York.

In his opening remarks, Alwasil emphasized that digital innovation has become a key driver of economic growth, social inclusion, and sustainable development.

He highlighted the Kingdom’s progress in digital infrastructure, data, and innovation, as well as efforts to enhance quality of life under Saudi Vision 2030.

 He underscored the importance of international digital cooperation in bridging the digital divide and supporting developing countries in benefiting from modern technologies.
