RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received his French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot in Riyadh on Thursday.
During the meeting, they reviewed relations between their countries and ways to enhance them in a manner that serves their common interests and aspirations, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Prince Faisal and Barrot also discussed regional and international developments and their implications for security and stability.
Barrot is on a regional tour that will also take him to Doha, Abu Dhabi, and then Muscat, where he will conclude his trip on Friday, Arab News en Francais reported.
The tour aims to strengthen its partnerships with Gulf countries and adapt its instruments of influence in order to contribute to a more stable security architecture.
Prince Faisal also received a telephone call from his Canadian counterpart Anita Anand on Thursday.
Saudi-Canadian relations, the latest developments in the region and efforts being made regarding them were discussed during the call.
The Kingdom’s foreign minister also received phone calls from his Kuwaiti and Egyptian counterparts.
The latest developments in the region were discussed with Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Badr Abdelatty.
