RIYADH: Saudi aid agency KSrelief has signed an executive program with a civil society organization to build and rehabilitate 13 schools in Yemen’s Lahj and Al-Dhale governorates, benefiting 59,851 people.

The agreement was signed via videoconference by Ahmed Al-Baiz, assistant supervisor-general of operations and programs at KSrelief, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Under the deal, 13 primary and secondary schools in rural and remote areas will receive new buildings and upgraded facilities.

The project includes more than 45 equipped classrooms to ease disruptions and overcrowding among male and female students.

It extends Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian efforts through KSrelief to support education in Yemen, where more than 1,200 facilities have already been assisted.

Meanwhile, KSrelief distributed vocational training kits to 25 women in Al-Mukalla, Hadramout governorate, to help reintegrate them into society and support small-business ownership.

The kits follow training in fields such as food processing, tailoring and handicrafts, helping women to earn sustainable incomes and support their families.

The project highlights the Kingdom’s commitment to empowering Yemeni women and promoting sustainable development through humanitarian aid.
