RIYADH: One of the world’s largest flower gardens has opened opposite Riyadh’s Boulevard World, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.
Boulevard Flowers, set across 214,000 sq. meters, features tens of millions of floral displays. These include more than 100 varieties of flowers and plants in 50 different colors set in beds stretching over 8,500 meters.
The main garden covers 94,000 sq. meters in a setting that blends nature, art and entertainment, with a high-quality sound system for music and lighting that offers visitors a unique after-dark experience.
Boulevard Flowers also features more than 200 sculptures, according to a tweet by the chair of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh. Some feature huge replica airplanes adorned with intricate floral wreaths.
Some areas are e areas accessible for an additional fee: the Kid’s Area for SR55, and the Pet Birds area for SR69. General admission starts at SR28.75 per person, while some zones are accessible for an additional fee; the Kids’ area costs SR55 while Pet Birds costs SR69. Free tickets are offered to people with disabilities, those aged over 65 and children under the age of 3.
The Pet Birds section hosts a collection of rare and exotic avians with the chance to see them up close and take photographs, while the Kids’ area has activities including face painting, drawing and coloring and child-friendly competitions.
There are also 40 different restaurants and cafes available on site, offering a wide range of food and refreshments.
Boulevard Flowers is opposite Boulevard World on Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Awwal Road and is open to visitors daily from 4pm until midnight. Tickets should be booked in advance via the webook platform.
