Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor-general of the Saudi aid agency KSrelief, recently launched the Saudi Virtual Volunteer Program in Syria via videoconference from the agency’s headquarters in Riyadh.

Al-Rabeeah said the launch reflects KSrelief’s institutional approach, noting that its volunteer initiatives have exceeded 1,300 programs.

He said the program is supported by the directives of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Al-Rabeeah also said that KSrelief designed the program to support sustainable knowledge transfer and capacity building.

It includes 53 volunteer projects across four main tracks, covering 239 fields aligned with the priorities of Syria’s Ministry of Health.

Syrian Health Minister Dr. Musaab Nazzal Al-Ali expressed appreciation for the initiative. He highlighted the importance of investing in healthcare personnel, particularly nursing and technical staff, to strengthen primary healthcare services.

The first phase includes 15 projects and specialized medical lectures, benefiting 18,210 individuals. The program aims to enhance healthcare workforce capabilities through advanced training delivered by qualified volunteers, improving service quality and institutional readiness.
