RIYADH: Work is underway on the construction and outfitting of Al-Sabban model secondary school in Yemen’s Seiyun, implemented by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen.

The project is part of the Kingdom’s efforts to support the education sector and improve learning environments across Yemen’s governorates, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The school includes modern classrooms, laboratories and facilities designed to support contemporary education and provide a stimulating environment for students.

It is one of four model schools in Hadramout governorate and part of more than 30 similar projects across Yemen, the SPA added.

The Saudi program has also launched initiatives in Hadramout, including renewable energy projects to expand access to education in Mukalla, Seiyun, Doan and Wadi Al-Ain districts.

In January, the program announced key projects, including establishing computer science and IT colleges at Hadramout and Seiyun universities, and rehabilitating the Agricultural Veterinary Technical Institute.

These initiatives aim to strengthen technical and higher education and align graduates’ skills with labor market needs, the SPA reported.

The projects will expand access to education, improve learning quality and enhance educational infrastructure in Hadramout. They will also help to empower students and build a skilled workforce to support long-term development.
