RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman hosted Egypt’s president, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, for iftar in Jeddah on Monday.
Earlier, the crown prince welcomed the president on arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Other Saudi and Egyptian officials were also present.
Television news footage showed the crown prince personally driving El-Sisi as they left the airport terminal.
Later in the evening, the crown prince accompanied the president as he departed after his brief trip to the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Iftar is the meal at sunset with which Muslims end their daily fast during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, which began in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
