RIYADH: The Royal Commission for AlUla, in collaboration with the Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa Center for Culture and Research, has inaugurated “Place of Remembrance” in AlUla Old Town.

The project offers a cultural experience highlighting the community’s memory and the beauty of traditional architecture, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.

It is the first milestone in the partnership between the two entities, following a 2023 memorandum of understanding. The project reflects a shared goal to preserve cultural identity, document intangible heritage, and develop programs that promote creativity and community engagement.

Designed as a multi-sensory journey through three restored heritage homes, it allows visitors to explore AlUla’s stories through architecture, traditional arts, oral histories, and interactive displays.

The experience ends on a terrace overlooking AlUla’s lanes, oasis, and surrounding landscape, celebrating memory, people, and place.

As a key cultural initiative, the project supports the commission’s vision to revitalize AlUla Old Town as a cultural center, connecting the past with the present through heritage-inspired experiences.
