Saudi FM meets with counterparts on sidelines of Arab League meeting in Cairo

RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with his Tunisian and Mauritanian counterparts on the sidelines of an Arab League meeting in Cairo on Tuesday.

During a meeting, Prince Faisal and Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Nafti discussed relations between their countries and issues of common interest.

In a separate meeting, Prince Faisal and Mauritania’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug reviewed ways to bolster cooperation between their countries. They also discussed regional and international developments and efforts made to address them.

Prince Faisal also participated in an Arab Ministerial Liaison Committee meeting for direct dialogue with the Syrian government.

Topics on the agenda of the meeting included strengthening the Arab role in resolving the Syrian crisis and addressing its political, security, and humanitarian consequences.

The Kingdom’s foreign minister also attended an Arab Ministerial Working Group meeting on supporting the sovereignty of Somalia.
