RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed developments in the Palestinian territories with his Bahraini, Egyptian, Jordanian, Turkish and Gambian counterparts on Sunday, state news agency SPA reported.

In separate phone calls, Prince Faisal emphasised the need to intensify Arab-Islamic efforts to halt violence against Palestinians amid escalations in Gaza and the West Bank.

Prince Faisal and Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani discussed ways to boost action in support of the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and to ensure the restoration of the rights of the Palestinian people.

The two ministers also discussed efforts to stop flagrant Israeli violations of international law and achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.

In talks with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty, Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi, and Gambian counterpart Mamadou Tangara, Prince Faisal explored efforts of Arab and Islamic states aimed at restoring the legitimate rights of Palestine and its people.

As the war in Gaza rages, Israeli violence in the West Bank has recently surged, drawing international condemnations.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman stressed the Kingdom’s keenness to unify the efforts of Arab and Muslim countries to support the Palestinian people in the face of Israel’s brutal aggression during talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
