RIYADH: The Netherlands’ Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Hans Peter van der Woude met on Tuesday in Riyadh with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation’s President Yasser bin Hassan Al-Misehal to explore cooperation in the sport.
The SAFF announced the meeting on X and stated that it was seeking ties with other federations around the world.
Also in attendance was the SAFF’s Secretary-General Ibrahim Al-Qassim.
During the meeting, Van der Woude was briefed on current cooperation between the two nations in youth development, women’s football, and technological improvements in the game.
On Monday, the Dutch ambassador had discussions with Dr. Khaled Al-Abdulkader, CEO of the National Center for Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification, on environmental issues.
A detailed briefing was also provided on Riyadh’s upcoming hosting of the Conference of the Parties, or COP16, of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, set for Riyadh from Dec. 2 to 13.
