GAZA: An Indonesian multidisciplinary team has joined the Emirati Integrated Field Hospital in war-ravaged Gaza to assist the UAE medical staff in providing the necessary healthcare services for injured Palestinians, Emirates News Agency WAM reported.

The support comes after a team of 25 Indonesian doctors collaborated with the UAE medical professionals to aid Palestinian patients evacuated to the UAE Floating Hospital in Al Arish, Egypt.

Ten of these doctors are now part of the field hospital, while the remaining 15 remain at the floating hospital to perform surgeries and offer medical care for patients sent for treatment abroad, said WAM.

In a statement, the UAE said the collaboration is a “testament to the robust relationship between the UAE and Indonesia, reflecting the significance of the humanitarian role under these difficult circumstances that the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been going through as a result of the ongoing war.”

The UAE has earlier inaugurated the field hospital in Gaza and a fully-equipped floating hospital in Al Arish earlier last year as part of a humanitarian mission to aid war-impacted Palestinians.

In collaboration with various international medical teams, the facilities have been addressing critical cases, providing prosthetics and conducting surgeries among other humanitarian efforts.
