- Move aims to streamline the fan experience for partnering clubs, offering early access to tickets, and season passes
- Platform will move to support participating SPL’s clubs with tech assistance as well as ongoing ticket promotions
RIYADH: The Saudi Pro League (SPL) has signed a three-year deal with Webook.com to facilitate ticket sales for Roshn Saudi League matches, starting with the 2024-25 season.
This move aims to streamline the fan experience for partnering clubs, offering early access to tickets, and season passes. Fans within the Kingdom and abroad will be able to purchase tickets well ahead of matchday.
With this new partnership, the platform will move to support participating SPL’s clubs with tech assistance as well as ongoing ticket promotions. The platform will deduct its operating fees, after which all ticket revenues will go to the clubs.
Ticket pricing will remain affordable, with a minimum price set at SAR10 and 30% of stadium seats capped at SAR30 or less. In terms of seat allocation, as per league regulations, the split will remain 70/30 between home and away fans.
The SPL aims to make ticketing fully digital, enhancing the buying experience and ensuring easy access for fans. In later stages, clubs can integrate Webook with their own sites, offering multiple purchase points for fans. The SPL will also ensure the ticketing process is smooth and transparent, helping eliminate black market sales and making tickets fairly priced for all fans.
The league will be responsible for supervising ticket distribution to ensure proper seat allocation and ensuring the platform is operating efficiently. This announcement comes as a first phase of efforts to enhance ticketing and provide fans with the best possible experience to matches.
Meanwhile, Omar Mugharbel, Saudi Professional League CEO, revealed that 160 countries hold broadcasting rights for Saudi Roshn League matches in season 2024/25 during a conference, Wednesday, in Riyadh, just one day before the kickoff of the league,
Mugharbel said, “Saudi Roshn League matches are broadcast in 160 countries for a financial consideration, and we do not disclose financial matters. Regarding match tickets, an agreement has been reached with the online platform Webook for a period of 3 years to sell match tickets.”
When asked about club budgets, the CEO said, “All clubs are aware of their budgets, and each club is in control of its financial decisions.”
