DUBAI: The UAE has issued a federal decree concerning domestic workers in order to strengthen relationships between employers and employees, reported state news agency WAM on Tuesday.

The law aims to accelerate the process of resolving disputes between the parties involved and will transfer the jurisdiction of such cases from the Court of Appeal to the Court of First Instance.

It states that if a dispute arises between the employer, domestic worker, and recruitment company and cannot be resolved between them, then the issue must be referred to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

Any party to the dispute may file a lawsuit with the Court of First Instance to contest the ministry’s decision. The ruling of the Court of First Instance in this case is final, and filing a lawsuit will suspend the enforcement of the ministry’s decision.
