DUBAI: The preachers of UAE mosques have been directed to shorten sermons so that the Friday prayer and sermon does not exceed ten minutes during the summer.
The directive comes into effect on Friday June 28 and will last until early October, Emirates News Agency reported.
The move will ensure the safety of worshippers during the summer months when temperatures are high, the country’s General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Zakat said on Thursday.
The temperature in the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi on Friday 28 at prayer time is expected to be 37°C.
