DHAHRAN: The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture will host dozens of cultural activities next week to celebrate Eid Al-Adha.
The events, which run from Monday to Wednesday, include a performance by Kuwaiti artist Humood Alkhudher at the Ithra Theater, plays and stage shows, exhibitions and competitions for all ages.
Visitors will also be able to explore the cultures of pilgrims from various countries and enjoy a range of festive activities in the Ithra Library.
In the Children’s Museum youngsters can go on a journey back to the time of the pilgrim caravans that traveled to Makkah for Hajj, take part in craft activities, learn about spices and pit their wits against the Hajj-themed challenges.
Visitors will also be able to see an installation that recreates the sights and sounds of historic Hajj markets and learn about the role of camels in desert trade.
There is also an astronomical exhibit that shows how people in ancient times used the stars for navigation and timekeeping.
At the Ithra Cinema visitors can enjoy a number of movies, including the award-winning “Hajjan” and “Hadi Aleies.”
