Saudi interior minister inspects Hajj security forces preparations

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud has inspected the preparations of the security forces for this year hajj, the Saudi Press Agency said early Tuesday.

During the hajj security forces annual celebration attended by the minister, Director of Public Security Mohammed Al-Bassami said that the security forces are fully prepared and ready to deal with everything that may disturb the peace of pilgrims, and to ensure that they perform their rituals with ease and comfort.

The forces then held a parade that included demonstrating various security drills, specialized and armored vehicles, in addition to helicopters.

Separately, the minister attended the closing ceremony of the First Forum for Health and Security in Hajj, organized by the ministry’s General Administration of Medical Services.

The administration’s general supervisor Saleh Al-Mohsen said that the capacity of the Security Forces Hospital in Makkah and affiliated health centers was increased and isolation areas were prepared and equipped with the latest modern technologies and devices, in addition to working to fully implement preventive medicine procedures and implement many health awareness programs.

He added that the administration is working to expand the uses of artificial intelligence and modern technologies to ensure an increase in the quality of services provided for pilgrims.
