RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has arrived in Russia ahead of the Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa bloc ministerial meeting on Tuesday.
Prince Faisal, who was invited by his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, will head the Saudi delegation for the event in Nizhny Novgorod.
During his trip, Prince Faisal will discuss with BRICS countries issues and priorities of common interest, developments on the international scene, and current global challenges. He will also hold a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines, reported Saudi Press Agency.
The Kingdom was invited to join the bloc in 2023 but is not yet a member.
Prince Faisal met with Lavrov on the sidelines of the meeting on Monday and also held talks with Yvan Eduardo Gil Pinto of Venezuela on the same day.
