Iraqi military intelligence uncovers extensive Daesh tunnel network

BAGHDAD: Iraq’s military intelligence has discovered and seized a large tunnel being used by the Daesh militant group, Iraq News Agency reported late Saturday.
The tunnel extended more than 500 meters from Tal Afar district and more than 500 meters from Al-Ayadiya district west of Nineveh.
It was used by Daesh for covert movement as well as hiding and transporting weapons, ammunition, supplies and other materials.
Various pieces of equipment were seized inside the tunnel.
Engineering units were dispatched to remove the materials, destroy them on-site and demolish the tunnel.
