RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Cairo announced on Wednesday that it had received a report from the Egyptian authorities stating that a body believed to belong to missing Saudi citizen Hattan Shata had been found.
A DNA sample was then taken to confirm the identity of the body and matched that of Shata’s. His death is not being treated as suspicious, the embassy said.
The embassy offered its condolences to the family of the deceased and thanked the Egyptian authorities for their efforts to uncover the circumstances of this incident.
