RIYADH: The Kingdom’s Civil Defense has bolstered its emergency and field teams in Mina, southeast of Makkah, in preparation for this year’s Hajj, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

Officials from the body have been conducting inspections at all the holy sites in conjunction with other government agencies, according to the SPA.

The Civil Defense was “bolstering all field centers, units and teams” to ensure pilgrims can perform their rituals safely later this month.

More than three million Muslims every year perform the stoning ritual at Jamarat Bridge in Mina.
